In collaboration with The Saline Project, GRAFX Co. brought to life the animated character “Scarfie” for a series of seasonal commercials promoting British Telecom (BT) offers. Designed as a lovable, slightly hapless hero, Scarfie navigates weather-related obstacles in his own endearing way, capturing attention and reinforcing BT’s campaign messaging with charm and humor.
GRAFX Co. led the character rigging, and animation, developing fluid, expressive motion that gave Scarfie both personality and relatability. Across multiple TV spots, we helped animate his seasonal struggles with comedic timing, physical nuance, and a polished aesthetic that resonated across audiences in the UK market.

The debut commercial in the series introduces Scarfie during a full-blown winter storm. Struggling to gain footing on slick ice in his rubber boots, the spot blends slapstick energy with sleek animation.
In the summer installment of the Scarfie series, our wooly hero swaps cold winds for crashing waves, this time navigating the open sea on a windsurfing board. As he tries to stay upright and deliver BT’s latest deals, Scarfie is relentlessly knocked around by wave after wave in a sun-soaked, slapstick adventure.
As autumn leaves swirl, Scarfie must defend BT’s latest deals from a blustery barrage of foliage. His valiant (yet ultimately futile) efforts add warmth and humor to the season’s messaging.
Even as the storm subsides, new challenges arise. A persistent gust of wind sends Scarfie into another unpredictable adventure, proving the BT deals are worth braving any weather.
Through these short, character-driven spots, GRAFX Co. demonstrated its ability to deliver narrative-rich character animation within fast-paced commercial production schedules. Scarfie’s seasonal antics served not just as brand entertainment, but as a reminder that even the smallest characters can deliver big impact.
